- The electric kit: Roland, Yamaha, and Alesis make numerous kits.
- Possibly a Bass drum pedal. Please avoid any kit without a real bass drum pedal.
- 1 Drum Throne
- 1 Amplifier suitable for drums. It doesn't have to stadium ready, you will be starting in a small room. Plus, cables to connect it all together.
- 1 cable that will allow you to plug in your phone or tablet to play along with. Some units have blue tooth. Check with the store employee.
- 1 Music stand
- A nonslip rug to put it all on or it will slide around. The bass drum pad will need to be secured to the floor. Or, what I do is had it up against the wall. And then I built the kit around it.
- 1 set of Headphones. Ear buds won't cut it.
- Before leaving the store ask the following question: "Do I have everything I need to get started? Is there anything I should know before heading home?"
